If I remember correctly, the project started out of a desire for a proper Roman-style tomb. It always felt like such a waste not to have something like this around for sims to explore. HERE is where I have it in my town. The rest is definitely required if you want the tomb to look and function properly. It was once the site of an ancient cult dedicated to Death dating back before the Roman Republic.
The tomb served as a necropolis for the common and rich alike and the cult was famed for its meticulous care over the dead. Centuries passed and the cult evolved—remnants of its believers converted to belief in the Watcher, then integrated their beliefs with the new religion.
Over time, worshiper numbers dwindled, partly due to lack of interest and also because of the great plagues that swept the land. By the s the lower levels had been entirely abandoned. Cave-ins blocked the deeper passages, so the ones closest to the surface were used as mass graves whenever disease overtook the population, supernatural screencaps zip file downloads. The last mass grave was reported to have been made in the early s during an outbreak of cholera, where bodies were piled onto the bones and graves of plague victims that spanned the previous millennia.
