I have been having this very same issue. Everything used to work. I have 5 computers. Two of them already had the game installed and have been patching fine up until recently. Now I get this same downloading patch error on all of my computers when I try patching or doing a fresh install. I even bought a brand new laptop last week and tried installing the game from work and get the same exact error message.

Seraphna I appreciate you trying to help but there's a fine line between white knighting a product and making absolute claims that if X then Y. If multiple people are having the exact same issue at the exact same spot with the exact same product then clearly there's an incompatability between said product and the makeup of the machines the product is being installed to.
It's not an issue with the registry, the harddrive, etc. The issue is pretty simple as it took me almost a month to figure it out.
